Weather hazards Weather plays a crucial role in aviation, which it impacts everything from flight safety and the performance of and aircraft. Airlines and Air traffic controllers monitor the weather constantly to ensure a smooth and safe flight. There are many different types of weather conditions that affect a flight. There is one article that stood out to me on one of the weather conditions. On June 13th, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shorty after take off (Drzombak, 2025). So, experts was ask if the temperature was the cause? It was over 100 degress Fahrenheit at the time. Higher temperature causes less dense air. When there is dense air it affect lift. That affects the way airplanes take off and land. It also can decrease the amount of thrust the propellers generate. With that being said, heat will probably be increasing disruptive for airline passengers in the future. There are many other articles explaining how weather affects the ability to fly.
